The new Democratic Bhutan and its relation with India

The relation between Bhutan and India has been the century old relation and it has become the unique example of bilateral relation in the 21^stCentury based on the 1949 Friendship Treaty. Among all the South Asian countries, Bhutan and India shares a unique, cordial and brotherhood relation but now that Bhutan turns into a democratic country there are some external forces like China which will be a major challenge to the relation of these brotherhood nations.

1949 Treaty is revised amending Article 2 which says that Bhutan has now independent Foreign Policy and it need not consult India in its external matters henceforth. Now, Will Bhutan ally with China or continue its relation with India is the big question?
